ibm midrange - Running a legacy file based application w/ an application using key based data? -


i have 2 applications: 1 running on as400 , leverages physical , logical files; other application newer version of same software leveraging key based rdb. sw uses number of master data, example, course catalog. can abstract architecture use data services layer (hadoop maybe?) map/serve/process data both applications feed legacy files? context, asking trying think of approach enable roll out new version on modern platform opposed taking on more tech debt. thoughts?
